Republic Day in Turkey

Today, October 29, is a big national holiday in Turkey – Republic Day (Cumhuriyet Bayramı). It was on this day, 99 years ago, that the Republic of Turkey was proclaimed by the first president of Turkey, Mustafa Kemal Ataturk.
In particular, in Alanya, the celebrations will begin at 14.00, there will be an official wreath-laying ceremony at the monument to Ataturk, as well as a speech by the mayor of the city of Adam, Murat Yucel. Also during the holidays, the city will host a procession, concerts and other festive events.
