Over 6.5 Million Foreign Tourists Visit Antalya

The tourism season has picked up in Antalya, one of the world's leading tourism centers. With over 6.5 million foreign visitors since the beginning of the year, hotel occupancy rates in the city have reached 90-100%, and reservations are showing a similar trend to last year. The city, which attracts visitors from all over the world, is experiencing its busiest season in the tourism sector. Antalya, which hosts the most guests from Russia, Germany, and England, is also seeing an increase in the Ukrainian market this year compared to last year.

Hakan Saatçioğlu, President of the Professional Hotel Managers Association, stated that the early booking period could not be fully utilized due to the US and Israeli attacks on Iran, but activity has increased since July.

Saatçioğlu noted that while they hosted 6,266,660 foreign tourists in the first six months of last year, this year 5,697,136 tourists visited the city during the same period.

Saatçioğlu stated that as of July 20th, the number of foreign visitors to Antalya had exceeded 6.5 million, adding, "By the end of this month, this figure will probably reach 8 million. We are slightly below last year's figures. Our first main market, as always, is Russia, again at the top. Our second market is Germany, and our third market is the UK. Following that are Poland, the Netherlands, and Ukraine."

Saatçioğlu noted that hotel occupancy rates are currently at their highest levels, saying, "Hotel occupancy rates have reached approximately 90% to 100%. We are doing well right now."

Saatçioğlu also stated that the domestic market has become more active, especially with the school holidays.
